A conference first for Scotland

International healthcare manufacturers Mentholatum descended upon Loch Lomond last month to discuss the challenges and opportunities in Global Healthcare Retailing.  New product development, growth plans for the company, and Mentholatum’s £10 million Springboard investment project in East Kilbride were among the topics covered.

The event represented The Mentholatum Company’s first cross-regional distributor’s conference and was hailed a major success by senior executives.

Maximising current and future opportunities

The Cameron House Hotel was the venue for The Mentholatum Company’s international distributor conference.  The highlight of the event was a seminar by guest speaker Brian Moore, a leading authority on global healthcare retailing, while senior Mentholatum management also delivered keynote presentations on a range of topics.

Managing Director and Vice President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Andrew Tasker, hailed the conference as a major success in terms of team building and developing knowledge and sharing best practice from across the globe.

He said, “The outcomes from the event will form a major part of Mentholatum’s plans to maximise current and future opportunities in global healthcare retailing and also help the business respond to our distributor’s individual regional needs.”

“A vital building block on which modern day living depends.”

Sandy Dobbie, Chairman of Chemical Sciences Scotland, commented, “We are delighted Mentholatum chose to host this significant event in Scotland.  The conference was an opportunity to reflect on the wider contribution of the chemicals sector, a significant contributor to the Scottish economy and a vital building block on which modern day living depends.”

Established in 1924 The Mentholatum Company manufactures high quality healthcare products in Scotland such as Deep Heat, Deep Freeze, OXY, Softlips and Rohto Zi.  The European Head Office, including a major research and development and manufacturing site, is located in East Kilbride.
