AWPR ruling will be a significant boost for Aberdeen City & Shire economy

Scottish Enterprise has welcomed a Supreme Court ruling, which will now allow the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR) to proceed.

Maggie McGinlay, Regional Director of Scottish Enterprise, Aberdeen City and Shire said: "This announcement marks an important step in delivering what will be the largest infrastructure project in the region for a generation and one that will have significant impact on the local economy.

"Feedback from business leaders across the region, especially in the oil & gas sector, has highlighted the importance of new infrastructure development and today's decision will give existing companies in the region confidence to make long term investment decisions while also making Aberdeen City and Shire a more attractive location for new overseas investment."
