Finance Secretary announces 29 new jobs

Finance Secretary John Swinney has announced the creation of 29 new jobs at payments technology company Clear2Pay in Dunfermline.

The investment by the company to expand its workforce has been enhanced through £250,000 in Regional Selective Assistance (RSA), awarded through Scottish Enterprise.

The investment brings the total number of jobs at the company’s Dunfermline office to 50.

Clear2Pay is a payments technology company focused on delivering globally applicable solutions for secure, timely and streamlined payments processing from 24 offices around the world.

The company’s Open Payment Framework (OPF) enables financial institutions to improve internal payments processing efficiencies, while providing clients with better payment services that are faster, with richer payments related information.

Making the announcement, Mr Swinney said: “Clear2Pay has committed to creating a further 29 jobs at its Dunfermline offices which will bring their total Scottish workforce to 50, and which will bring a substantial boost to the local economy in Fife.

“This is an inward investment from a global company, which is increasing its footprint in Scotland because of the skills and talents that exist in our software development sector.

“The investment made by the company has been enhanced by £250,000 in Regional Selective Assistance through Scottish Enterprise, which supports investment in Scotland’s economy and creates jobs for our people.

“The First Minister recently announced that Scotland is on track for a strong year in 2014 in terms of jobs created and safeguarded through RSA assistance, having already exceeded the figure achieved for the previous financial year."

“This centre is key in supporting our long term Testing 2020 vision, where we provide our customers with tools, solutions and expertise that allows them to test their digital transaction systems end-to-end in such a way that they increase system quality while reducing operational costs and time-to-market deployment.”
