Cream of Tayside companies revealed as business award finalists
Seen by local organisations as the premier event in the calendar for recognising business excellence across Tayside, the awards are spearheaded by Scottish Enterprise in Tayside and run in conjunction with principal sponsors The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
The short-list featuring the finalists has just been unveiled for the nine categories.
Companies were invited to put themselves forward for any of the following categories:
Most Entrepreneurial Start-Up Company
Business Growth through Innovation and Creativity
Business Growth through People Development
Business Growth through Information and Communications Technology
Business Growth through Marketing and Sales
Business Growth through International Activity
Business Growth through Sustainable Development
Best Performing Business with under 25 employees
Best Performing Business with 26-250 employees
Category sponsors include Dundee City Council, Michelin, Dundee College, Highland Spring, Forth Ports Plc, Angus Ahead and RBS Commercial Banking. The Courier is also sponsoring the awards as media sponsors.
The judging panel featuring local business experts had the difficult task of identifying finalists in each category and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by Sally Gray on 13 March at the Apex City Quay Hotel.
Jill Farrell, operations director at Scottish Enterprise in Tayside, said: “Congratulations to the companies which have made it onto the shortlist – they have done tremendously well to make it to this stage. We always expect a high standard of entries for the Tayside Business Excellence Awards and this year has been no different. I understand from the judges that the quality of entries has again been incredibly high and built on the impressive standards set last year.
“These Business Awards are a real chance for us to recognise and reward Tayside’s top entrepreneurial performers. We are looking forward to the awards themselves which will, once again, showcase the entrepreneurial talent we have across the Tayside region.”
Andy Kilgour, regional director of Commercial banking with RBS in Tayside, said: "The 25 companies shortlisted for these awards have all shown the drive, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit that is essential for any successful business. We are delighted to be associated with these awards which recognise the achievements of these companies and the wealth and job creation they bring to the area."
