Fife entrepreneurs get down to business

A new season of free Business Gateway business training and start-up events kick starts this week in Fife with a Women Into Business networking event in Dunfermline on Wednesday.

The event is the first of a raft of seminars and workshops geared to help potential entrepreneurs take their first steps in the business world as well as helping existing businesses with mastering the various skills required to get ahead in the world of business.

Fife Business Gateway's 'Business Training Programme' is created specifically to encourage would-be business owners to develop winning business ideas, as well as tackling head on some of the topics existing business owners feel they could benefit from training on.

The new Business Training Programme will run from October to December in venues across the Kingdom of Fife. It will be launched on the back of the latest encouraging figures, which show that more than 701 entrepreneurs accessed a range of help and support last year to make starting up on their own a reality.

Jim Driver, director of Fife Business Gateway, said: "More and more people in Fife are prepared to consider starting their own business and our Business Training Programme has been designed to inspire and motivate potential entrepreneurs by highlighting local success stories as well as providing essential business skills.

"Starting your own business can be a daunting thought, however, with the right business idea, the right support and the right inspiration, there are many potential successful business ventures out there that would add to and boost Fife's local economy."

By offering support, encouragement and guidance, the series of events aims to increase the number of new ambitious businesses in the Kingdom and unlock the huge potential within Scotland’s entrepreneurial spirit.
