Free Export Advice For Scotland As Export Hub Makes Return Trip

Scottish firms can access free export advice when the Exporting is GREAT tour makes its second visit to Scotland between 23 August and 8 September.

The Export Hub is a UK Government initiative backed by the UK Government, Scottish Enterprise, the Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the Scottish Council for Development and Industry. The truck will visit Dumfries & Galloway, Ayrshire, Argyll & Bute, the Isle of Skye, Inverness, Moray, Perthshire and Fife.

Businesses will be able to access advice from experts about how to sell overseas and which markets offer the greatest potential. They can also hear from experienced exporters and arrange one-on-one meetings with export advisers. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. The Export Hub will be in the following locations on the following dates:

23 August: Gretna Green
26 August: Prestwick Airport
29 August: Cairndow
31 August: Isle of Skye
2 September: Inverness
5 September: Forres
7 September: Perthshire
8 September: Fife

Businesses are being invited to book to attend events on the tour, with places allocated on a first come first served basis.

By visiting www.exportingisgreat.gov.uk, companies can access and apply for export opportunities that are being uploaded at a rate of one every 37 minutes the UK Government’s network in over 100 markets overseas.

So far, around the UK, over 30,000 export opportunities have been applied for. Scottish businesses can also access help from dozens of Exporting is GREAT partners. These include major banks, logistics firms, currency converters and accountants, and also UK Export Finance, which aims to ensure that no viable export fails due to lack of insurance or finance. Many of these partners will be supporting the delivery of the tour in Scotland.

The UK Government works with Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to support thousands of Scottish firms every year to export, and it helps to land the inward investment projects that create thousands of new jobs in Scotland each year.

Most recently The Puffersphere, made by Edinburgh firm Pufferfish, was among the UK products showcased to Her Majesty the Queen when she visited UKTI’s stand at the International Festival for Business in Liverpool in June.
