Global sales and marketing solutions provider showcases first European headquarters in Glasgow

U.S.-based Televerde has been showcasing its first European headquarters in Glasgow today (Wednesday 16 November) where 170 jobs will be created.

U.S.-based Televerde has been showcasing its first European headquarters in Glasgow today (Wednesday 16 November) where 170 jobs will be created. Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Jobs and Fair Work Keith Brown has met with some members of the highly skilled workforce the company has recruited since arriving in Scotland earlier this year.

The B2B sales, marketing and demand generation leader, which has already launched 10 campaigns with European clients, has more in the pipeline. Televerde plans to build out a complete contact centre employing 170 staff, including approximately 130 skilled multilingual agents. The contact centre includes language capabilities in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Scandinavian and Eastern European languages.

Televerde specifically chose Glasgow as its European headquarters based on the city’s ability to serve its customers with strong and motivated multilingual talent and the geographic proximity between the U.S. and continental Europe.

Televerde was supported by Scottish Development International to select Scotland for its European headquarters and assisted with a Regional Selective Assistance grant of £670,000 from Scottish Enterprise, allowing them to tap into Scotland's dynamic business environment based on a well-established reputation for excellence and innovation.

The company employs approximately 650 staff across 5 contact centres in the U.S., providing business-to-business (B2B) outsourced sales, marketing and demand generation services dedicated to helping companies acquire news business and accelerate revenue.

Economy Secretary, Keith Brown said: “Scotland has a well established reputation for excellence and innovation in the Global Business Services sector, attracting companies from all over the world.  I am delighted that Televerde has established its European Headquarters here, supported by the Scottish Government through a Scottish Enterprise RSA grant of £670,000, which is a great endorsement for Glasgow and for Scotland.”

James Hooker, CEO of Televerde said: “There is a tremendous opportunity for us to bring our 21 years of experience to help companies generate more demand and drive greater revenue by leveraging marketing technology and integrated teleservices. European companies are aggressively expanding their marketing technology and sales development resources. We believe we are expanding our presence in Europe at an important time when we can not only help companies expand across Europe, but also help European companies enter the Americas. The team we have initially built in Glasgow is extremely impressive and we and look forward to continuing to our expansion and building out our team.”

Managing Director of Scottish Development International, Paul Lewis, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Televerde to Scotland – and to Glasgow, which is an ideal location for its European headquarters. The company will now join the many international investors who benefit from our competitive business environment, strong skills base and effective support network, which help make Scotland the top performing location for inward investment after London.  We look forward to supporting Televerde’s ambitious growth plans for Europe.”
