Internationally-successful survey company welcomes Scottish Enterprise chief executive

NCS Survey Ltd will welcome Scottish Enterprise chief executive, Lena Wilson today (30 March) to learn more of the company’s ambitious future plans and hear of the impact and value that Scottish Enterprise’s support has had on its impressive growth and development.  

Established in 2005, NCS Survey is a leading independent UK offshore survey company providing survey services to the offshore construction and positioning markets on a worldwide basis. Its key focus is in the oil and gas, offshore renewables, hydrography, port and harbours and telecommunications sectors. The company works closely with its clients to provide cost effective and technically advanced solutions and to date has carried out over 400 projects in 30 different countries.

Lena Wilson, chief executive of Scottish Enterprise said: “NCS is a great example of an ambitious company that has worked hard to gain a solid reputation both at a local and international level as a key supplier of innovative onshore and offshore survey services - helping it achieve that globally competitive edge.

“The company is proactive in its approach and is constantly evaluating and assessing new markets and opportunities to ensure that it can continue to grow successfully and look to the future with drive and determination.

As part of her visit to the company Lena will meet with Andy Gray, owner and managing director, NCS, who said: “Scottish Enterprise has been very proactive in working with us and their support has been integral to our success. Scottish Enterprise has worked with NCS Surveys Ltd on a range of support activities and strategic developments. The company employs around 60 people and has experienced approximately 50 per cent year on year growth since 2005 with a turnover of £5 million.

During her trip Lena will also meet with Tom Smith, chairman of Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Forum (ACSEF).  As Scottish Enterprise’s regional advisory board, ACSEF brings together the public and private sectors to help realise the ambition for the future of the Region and to shape delivery of economic development in Aberdeen City and Shire.
