Level Four secures funding from Scottish Enterprise to grow business and employment opportunities in Fife

Level Four Software today announces that it has been awarded £250,000 of Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) funding from Scottish Enterprise, Scotland’s main economic development agency. Level Four is a dynamic and expanding SME based in Dunfermline, Fife.  The company develops software to automatically test cash machines for a number of the world’s leading banks.

The investment will support the company’s plans to grow from twenty three (23) to forty one (41) full-time employees.  Eighteen (18) new jobs will be created in the Dunfermline Head Office and Development Centre over the next three years, supporting a wider global expansion into new geographies and markets.

Level Four is looking for graduates and experienced professionals to fill a range of positions from software developers and computer programmers, to sales staff and technical writers.  These key hires will support the firm’s business growth plans in the region, which include developing its Dunfermline infrastructure to reach new territories around the world.

Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's main economic development agency and aims to deliver a significant, lasting effect on the Scottish economy. Its role is to help identify and exploit the best opportunities for economic growth. It supports ambitious Scottish companies to compete within the global marketplace and helps build Scotland’s globally competitive sectors. Scottish Enterprise also works with a range of partners in the public and private sectors to attract new investment to Scotland and to help create a world-class business environment.

Regional Selective Assistance (RSA) is the main national scheme of financial assistance to industry. It provides discretionary grants to investment projects that will create and safeguard employment in areas designated for regional aid under European Community law.

Paul Gardiner, Head of Operations at Level Four, commented on the award of the grant: “Central Scotland has a history of being at the forefront of technology and innovation. It’s an excellent hub with good connections. The close proximity of local universities mean there is an ever-evolving breadth and depth of talent on our doorstep. The funding from Scottish Enterprise will help us harness this talent and capitalise on the unique strengths of the region. It will not only support our growth, but will also secure our future here and help the development of businesses in the wider region.”

Lena Wilson, Chief Executive, Scottish Enterprise, said: "It's our role to encourage both Scottish and foreign companies to invest in Scotland and RSA is one of the key tools we use to do this. I am very pleased to see the role that RSA has played in helping Level Four Software create new jobs in Fife. It provides an economic boost for the region and is further testament to Scotland's ever-growing reputation and capabilities in the financial services sector."

Level Four will also invest in a range of IT improvements at its Dunfermline headquarters by partnering with other local businesses. The changes will enable Level Four to set up the ‘Level Four Academy’ – a knowledge centre that global clients can refer to as a point of reference for training and expertise on Level Four products and services. Regional resources, whether they be knowledge, products or services, will be invaluable to Level Four in the coming years and the company looks forward to sharing its successes with the rest of central Scotland.
