New sustainable energy programme to help Scotland’s companies enter new global markets

Companies in Scotland are being invited to participate in a new programme which aims to develop and export the country’s sustainable energy products, systems and services to international markets.

Set to launch in October 2017, the new Sustainable Islands International programme will recruit 30 Scottish companies with the potential to export sustainable energy systems or services into global islands and remote communities.

The three-year programme is being led by Scottish Enterprise and Highlands & Islands Enterprise, along with their international arm, Scottish Development International.

It will work with companies to provide them with technical, market and sales expertise to help them identify international opportunities across the sector. The companies will work together to share market insights and experiences, and to access new sales opportunities.

It will be showcased to funders around the world, including development banks such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank and Caribbean Development Bank.

Sustainable Islands International is holding two free launch events for companies wishing to join the programme. At these events, attendees will learn about the programme and the practical support being offered. There will also be opportunities to network with other companies and identify potential collaboration partners.

Events take place in Stirling on 3rd October and Inverness on 5th October both from 10am – 4pm.
