Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult appoints Andrew Jamieson as CEO
The UK Technology Strategy Board has announced the appointment of Andrew Jamieson as CEO of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. He joins the Catapult from ScottishPower Renewables where he was Policy and Innovation Director.
Welcoming the news, Adrian Gillespie, Director of Energy and Low Carbon Technologies at Scottish Enterprise, said:
“The Offshore Energy Catapult has a crucial role to play in the success of this hugely important sector, bringing together innovative companies and key research institutions to support the development of pioneering low carbon technologies.
“Andrew Jamieson’s experience and vision will help ensure that the work of the catapult accelerates progress and secures significant economic benefits to the UK through the wind, wave and tidal sectors.”
The Offshore Energy Catapult is a £50million technology innovation project funded by the Technology Strategy Board. The headquarter function of the Catapult will be located within the flagship International Technology and Renewable Energy Zone in Glasgow.
