Proact to create 50 new jobs in Scotland
Technology company grows workforce in North Lanarkshire following government support
Proact, Europe's leading storage integrator and cloud services enabler, today announces the creation of 50 new jobs at its European Operation and Support Centre based in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. Scottish Development International is supporting the company to create new technology roles in the region.
Proact is creating a number of roles to support the expansion and development of its UK and European operations. The company is targeting skilled technology professionals with management, customer service and technical expertise. Proact is also looking to hire talented individuals and graduates wishing to build a career with the company.
Enterprise Minister Fergus Ewing said: “The Scottish Government and our enterprise agencies are working tirelessly to secure new jobs and investment to Scotland. Proact’s announcement to expand their Scottish operations and create 50 new jobs at their Bellshill base is testament to the skills and expertise of the local workforce.
“The decision of this growing technology firm to create new jobs highlights the talent we have in this industry, and also Scotland’s attractiveness as a place to do business.”
Anne MacColl, chief executive of Scottish Development International (SDI) said: "Scottish Development International has worked closely with Proact to offer an integrated package of support to bring this investment to Scotland. As one of Europe's leading companies in its field, the fact that it's chosen to create new jobs here is real testament to what we have to offer to this growing business sector.
"Scotland already has a well-established track record in IT and the provision of the full range of data, shared service and network operations centres. This means we can offer world-class infrastructure support, a large pool of highly qualified IT staff and cost effective benefits compared to other locations."
Danny Quinn, Head of Managed Cloud Services Operations at Proact, said: “Our business is growing rapidly as more and more customers recognise us as the market leader in managed cloud services. Receiving the RSA grant means we can take advantage of the available workforce in Scotland and offer ambitious professionals the chance to build a long-lasting career with us.” He added: “Proact is a young and vibrant company, developing innovative emerging technology. We’re looking for people with talent, enthusiasm and an eagerness to grow. At Proact we think differently and we’re looking for ‘Proactivists’ who embrace our hands-on mentality.”
