Safeguarding the future of Scotland's chemicals sector

Scottish Enterprise welcomes news that the Ineos petrochemical plant in Grangemouth is to remain open.

Lena Wilson, chief executive, Scottish Enterprise said: “We are very pleased that Ineos and the union have reached this positive decision, saving hundreds of valuable Scottish jobs and safeguarding the future of the site at Grangemouth.

"We have worked closely, alongside the Scottish Government and Falkirk Council, in recent weeks to do all we could to support during these difficult times. Our priority now is to support the delivery of the investment plan through a £9 million Regional Selective Assistance grant and will continue to work closely with Ineos to ensure it, their supply chain and the wider chemicals sector delivers maximum impact for the Scottish economy.”
