Scottish Enterprise Chief Takes Elite Award for Public Service

Scottish Enterprise chief executive Jack Perry last night took one of the country’s top awards when he was named Public Service Leader of the Year at the prestigious Insider Elite awards at the Radisson hotel in Glasgow.

Perry, who will leave the organisation next month after a six-year tenure as chief executive, has overseen some of the greatest changes in Scottish Enterprise’s history.

Commenting on the award, Crawford Gillies, Scottish Enterprise chairman, said:

“This is a prestigious award for Scottish Enterprise and a really fitting tribute for Jack. In the last couple of years, Jack has successfully led the organisation through the biggest restructure in the organisation's history, leading to a leaner, more efficient and more flexible organisation, which is ready to respond to the needs of our customers.

“He has shown great leadership and complete dedication to the organisation, and I am delighted that his hard work and dedication to the public sector have been recognised.”

The accolade follows a momentous year for the trimmed-down public sector organisation, which has seen chief operating officer, Lena Wilson win IoD Female Director of the Year, chief financial officer Hugh Hall win the Public Sector
Finance Director of the Year award, and the Scottish Enterprise Investment team win Dealmaking Team of the Year.

Guy Crawford, chief executive of Jumeirah Group and one of Scottish Enterprise’s most prominent GlobalScots, was also named as International Contributor of the Year.

Ms Wilson will take over the chief executive post at Scottish Enterprise on 4th November.
