Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences Awards finalists announced

Scotland celebrates world class life sciences sector

A number of Scotland’s most dynamic life sciences companies and business leaders have been shortlisted for the prestigious Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences Awards 2014.

Successful nominations have been named in six award categories which celebrate the continuing global achievements of the sector. Held annually, the awards dinner attracts more than 700 people from the life sciences community both in the UK and abroad, to highlight Scotland’s most innovative companies across the industry.

As well as recognising success and achievements, the awards will also focus on the ongoing work of Scottish Enterprise and its partners to grow and develop a sustainable, globally competitive life sciences sector in Scotland.

Congratulating the nominees, Julia Brown, director of life and chemical sciences at Scottish Enterprise said: “The Scottish Life Sciences Awards are highly sought after by the life sciences community and the judging panel was again very impressed with the consistently high standards of innovation and business performance in the strong field of nominations.

“This year we have focused on recognising leadership, activities that support the growth of the sector, product innovation and community engagement. I am pleased to see that the nominees represent such a broad cross section of the Scottish life sciences community, from fish health to digital health”

The winners of the awards will be announced at the Scottish Enterprise Life Sciences Annual dinner at Edinburgh International Conference Centre on Thursday 6 February 2014 which will focus on the importance of internationalisation.The keynote speaker will be Peter Jeffries, Chief Executive, GALVmed.
