The £350 million deal was signed by the Scottish and UK governments at an event attended by the four local councils plus representatives from business and academia. It marks a commitment from all parties to work collaboratively and deliver a deal that will create a smarter and fairer Angus, Dundee, North East Fife and Perth & Kinross.

Linda Hanna, managing director for Scottish economic development at Scottish Enterprise, said: “This signing is an important milestone in delivering the Tay Cities Deal, which we are proud to have worked on alongside our partners since its inception. The programme of investment confirmed by both the Scottish and UK Governments will enable us all to deliver real and lasting economic benefits for the region, making it an even more attractive and inclusive place to live, work and do business.
