Scottish Enterprise Welcomes Latest EY Attractiveness Survey

Responding to EY's latest Attractiveness Survey that shows Scotland has attracted the highest number of projects to small towns, communities and villages compared to rest of the UK, Charlie Smith, Managing Director of International Development, Strategy and Technology at Scottish Enterprise, said:

“These latest figures that show Scotland leading the way in the UK for the geographical spread of FDI projects it attracts are most welcome.

“It is particularly pleasing to see the Team Scotland approach across business, public bodies, local authorities and the Scottish Government creating more job opportunities in smaller communities, which will spread increased wealth and wellbeing.

“However, we must not become complacent. We know a large number of the Scottish working age population live in local authority areas with below average employment rates. Scottish Enterprise will continue to work with partners to focus on future economic opportunities that build thriving economic communities across the whole of Scotland.”
