SDI welcomes HSBC recruitment news

HSBC today announced plans to recruit an additional 70 staff at its newly refurbished customer contact centre in Edinburgh.

Welcoming the news, David Smith interim Chief Executive of Scottish Development International, which has worked closely with the company, said:

“Scotland has continued to attract high quality jobs through inward investment during the economic downturn thanks to factors such as a strong skills base and an excellent business infrastructure.

“HSBC’s decision to invest almost £5 million in a state of the art contact centre at Edinburgh Park and boost staff numbers to around 600 is a real testament to these key strengths, particularly within the financial services sector, and we look forward to continuing to work with the company in the future.”
