Drive to promote investment opportunities gets underway

The campaign to attract the world’s top property investors to Scotland has kicked off with the launch of Scotland @ MIPIM 2020.

As Britain’s departure from the EU approaches, the team promoting Scotland’s prospects has commenced its programme of activity leading up to one of the most important real estate investment conferences on the planet.

For the first time, there is now a dedicated Scotland@MIPIM online presence where all of the plans, costs and details for the event will be proactively published and available for anyone to view.

This includes the exciting new sponsorship brochure, offering unique opportunities for Scottish businesses to harness the backing of the public sector and enterprise community and promote themselves to the audience of investors who attend the annual event.

A stylish new Scotland Pavilion at next year’s conference will host delegates, with talks and events on the following themes –

  • Real Estate with a Purpose
  • Skills, Talent and Innovation
  • Living
  • International Gateways

Following on from the First Minister’s declaration of a climate emergency, the environmental agenda will play a major part in the Scottish strategy at MIPIM.

Public sector partners the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Cities Alliance and the Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen City local authorities will be supported at the event by Scottish Property Federation and other private sector partners. As Brexit approaches, they will work to we foster our international relationships and ensure Scotland continues to be considered a player on the world stage.

Attendance at MIPIM and similar events has contributed to £2billion of investment in Scotland’s cities over the past decade, with projects that have created and supported thousands of jobs.

Construction giant Morgan Sindall and Glasgow University have already signed up to be sponsors of the Scottish delegation at the event.

They were joined by a host of other business and enterprise community representatives at the reception in Glasgow’s Corinthian Club to formally mark the start of Scotland’s journey to MIPIM 2020.

The event in Cannes, France, offers the opportunity to showcase Scotland as a vibrant and attractive proposition to the most influential players in the global property industry as efforts are ramped up to secure Scotland’s place on the global stage

More than 26,800 participants from more than 100 countries will be represented at MIPIM 2020 next March, all competing with Scotland to attract interest in development and investment opportunities.
