Specialist oil and gas services company, SMS (Sand Monitoring Services), is eyeing growth opportunities in the Middle East market as it prepares to showcase its solutions at ADIPEC, in Abu Dhabi next week.

The company has been invited to exhibit and present at the conference by the global petroleum and chemical enterprise, Saudi Aramco, at their Innovation Zone this year. SMS is one of three companies for the UK to be invited to the stand.

The exhibition is part of SMS’s plan for international growth and is being supported by Scottish Development International (SDI) as part of its Middle East Market Research Project. SDI is the international arm for Scottish Enterprise agencies, helping companies trade and operate into global markets.

ADIPEC will support SMS as it enters its 12th year of business and expands its service offering to the Middle East. SMS has already secured work in the region after being awarded a six figure contract with a major oil and gas company to provide sand monitoring and sand management services.

Commenting on the company’s growth plan, SMS’s Development Director, Ali Moncur said: “We look forward to exhibiting with Saudi Aramco at ADIPEC this year and we hope this will allow us to build a significant presence in the Middle East and its channels to increase SMS’s global reach.

“The Middle East holds fantastic opportunity and has remained a strong market during a difficult and uncertain climate. Having invested a great deal of time and money on new sand, erosion and corrosion monitoring solutions, it is important that we demonstrate to existing and future clients the diversity in our services.

“We are committed to extending our offering through new product development in well servicing and sand management and we are the only company to offer a complete package from strategy and design through to commissioning and monitoring. We look forward to bringing these capabilities to light to a large audience, where they can gain a deeper understanding of what SMS can offer.”

Supporting SMS in its venture, Scottish Enterprise’s Company Growth Account Manager, Colin Landsburgh commented: “SMS clearly recognises the importance Internationalisation can play to its growth ambition and this exciting opportunity will play an instrumental role in supporting this. The company’s success is testament to its strong leadership and ambitious plans and I wish them continued success during their visit to ADIPEC this year.”

SMS will be exhibiting at stand 5330 during ADIPEC on the 9th-12th of November.
