Welcoming statement re EIF NPI Equity Platform

Commenting on the announcement of a new European Investment Fund National Promotional Institution (NPI) Equity Platform, featuring Scottish Enterprise as a founding member, Kerry Sharp, head of the Scottish Investment Bank, said:

"I’m pleased to see the launch of the new European Investment Fund National Promotional Institution (NPI) Equity Platform today and I’m very proud that Scottish Enterprise was invited to be one of the founding members. This is a real endorsement of the great work being undertaken by the Scottish Investment Bank, from our peers in the international investment community.

"Scottish Enterprise’s membership of this new initiative is part of our ambition to enhance SME access to finance, develop our funding markets and support organisations in accessing match funding from the EIF.

"Our role in this platform will help to ensure that we are aware of ongoing potential funding opportunities from the EIF, and where there is the potential to bring additional capital to Scotland, we are fully involved in the consultation process.

"We look forward to working closely with other organisations with similar objectives from across Europe to share knowledge and best practice, and ultimately deliver greater opportunities for Scottish companies and our investment partners."
