Wishaw Factory Opening to Create New Jobs

The official opening of the new facility was marked today by an event at the premises attended by local MSP John Pentland and representatives from Scottish Enterprise.

Built in response to consumer demand for structures to arrive onsite 100% complete, the new structural steel workshop and shot-blast and paint facility will increase the company’s production of high quality steel fabrications for the rail and highway sectors in the UK, as well as offering a complete in-house design, production and installation service.

The company already carries out all glass and timber work for its architectural fabrications in-house, as well as all glazing and cladding for large structural steel fabrications such as bridges, walkways, staircases, lift shafts and canopies. The addition of the new facility allows the company to further enhance this service, setting Miller Fabrications apart as unique in its field.

Gary Gibb, Managing Director, Miller Fabrications, said: “Investing in staff, facilities and machinery has been central to our ethos from the very beginning. The development of our production facilities will allow us to continue our growth ambitions in the rail and highways sectors, while consolidating our existing clients in the construction industry.

We are committed to employing from the local community and are delighted that this will bring an additional 16 jobs to the area.”
