New figures showing Scotland’s total oil and gas supply chain sales reached a record £22.9 billion during 2014, over half of which was delivered via international activity, are a strong reminder of the important role the sector plays in Scotland and globally.

Oil and gas firm, OneSubsea is to invest £1.8 million in a new research and development (R&D) project to help grow its global presence. The investment will create five new jobs and safeguard a further 35.

Scotland’s oil and gas sector has received a boost from Chinese-based iRes-Geo Technology Ltd which has opened its first Scottish base at Heriot Watt University’s Research Park.
